Researchers at the Faculty of Science at Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu, India, reported that Tulsi has antioxidant properties and supports the body's natural response to oxidative stress.
Scientists at the Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow, India, found that the constituents in Tulsi maintain normal levels of the stress hormone cortisol in the body. Tulsi is grown all over India, in houses, gardens and temples.
